About Cool Stoke

May 11th, 2011

Cool Stoke was a year long project to raise awareness of climate change in North Staffordshire. It provided a wide range of events, activities and opportunities for people to get involved in lively debate and campaigning.

Throughout 2007 Cool Stoke held conferences, entertaining talks by celebrities, and workshops with children, so that by working together and spreading the word we can take on the challenges of climate change now and into the future.

The project was funded by DEFRA’s Climate Challenge Fund. It was being delivered by Stoke on Trent City Council who were hosting a dedicated Project Officer.

The Climate Challenge Fund was set up in partnership with the Environment Agency, the carbon Trust, the Energy Saving Trust, the UK Climate Impacts Program, the Department for Transport and the Department of Trade and Industry.

Weʼd like to extend the message of Cool Stoke and have this website be a valuable Climate
Change information resource.
